Wall and Beal Spearhead Wizards Resurgence With Stellar All-Star Weekend

Nationals, Redskins, and Wizards oh my

Washington Wizard guards John Wall and Bradley Beal sent shockwaves through the NBA ranks by showing out in 2014 all-star weekend. Beal gave champion everything he could handle, in his second place finish in the foot locker three point contest. Not to be outdone by his backcourt mate, Wall, who was not favored by any analyst, won the Sprite Slam Dunk contest with an emphatic two handed reverse over mascot g-man.

While the individual accolades are certainly deserved and rewarding, Beal and Wall have done wonders in reestablishing the Wizards brand. For the better part of a decade, the Wizards were considered the laughing stock of the league. With known knuckleheads Nick Young and Andray Blatche at the helm, the Wizards established a culture of losing. This undoubtedly stunted the growth and progression of eventual all-star Wall.
